I am qualified with MD (Ayu) in Swastavritta & Yoga (Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda Community Medicine & Yoga, Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Post Graduate Diploma in Health Development, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery), First class Honors, Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute, University of Kelaniya and Certificate in Yoga and Relaxation techniques, G.W.A.I, University of Kelaniya.
I am a research supervisor of UG and PG students. My favorite research and teaching subject is Yoga Therapeutics.
Aromatherapy can be introduce as usage of the smell of essential oils for healing. Yoga Therapy means using Ashtanga Yoga, Shat Karma, Yoga Nidra and etc in Yoga Philosophy for cure the illnesses. Aroma Therapy can be used with Yoga Therapy as a medicine to cure patients. Not only that Aroma Therapy can be used with day today Yoga practice for the prevention from diseases. Aroma Therapy acts directly on the mind and it acts to balance Tridosha in our body. Therefore the basic concepts of Ayurveda also can be used when practicing this combine therapy for the best results. The nature of the patient and imbalance of his/her Doshic condition are to be understand by the physician before practicing this combine Therapy. After that the suitable aromatherapy can be used with prescribed yoga Therapy.
