Abstract: The Graha Rogas have separate entity from mother general disorders. Their aetio-pathogenesis, clinical features, severity, complications and management is entirely different to routine disorder of children.Their progress in human body is very rapid with high morbidity and mortality rate. Therefore, such types of disorders are categorized under the heading of Bala graha. Disease caused by unidentified factors are termed as idiopathic in modern science but Balagraha, Jataharni, Putana, Shakuni etc. disorders in our classics are attributed to goddess, sins of previous birth and a result of bad deeds. In detail explanation to understand graha and their common line of treatment will be dealt.

Abstract: Pranapratyagamana (Resuscitation) for sick new born care in the delivery room and relate them to modern neonatology practices. Neonatology as we know today is relatively new clinical science. Interestingly however Ayurveda, the authentic Indian medicine had already described in detail the principles of newborn care 5,500 years ago in Kaumarbhritya the science of pediatrics. The term pranapratyagamana used in charak samhita is very much similar to resuscitation. The word “Prana” means breath (respiration) the “Pratyagamana” is “coming back or arrival”, “Pranapratyagamana” of Ayurveda means establishment of respiration . Even Astanga Hridaya also explained the procedure. In this presentation detailed procedure and understanding of it will be explained.

Topic: Making Ayurveda Accessible for the Average Westerner
Abstract: Ayurveda is still relatively unknown in the West. In this webinar, we will explore how to communicate about Ayurveda to potential and current Western clients. A big problem with Ayurveda is client compliance. Unfortunately, Ayurveda can sometimes seem overwhelming given all the “rules” and daily practices. A common pitfall is to “over-prescribe” remedies to new clients, which can actually be counterproductive. Another aspect of accessibility is affordability – what can your clients reasonably afford in terms of herbal supplements and follow-up sessions? We’ll discuss how to choose your battles and what to focus on to move clients forward - without bombarding them with “to-dos” and too many herbs.

Topic: Takradhara : Treatment modalities as a Panchakarma
Abstract: Dhara is one of the pleasant as well as popular therapies. ‘Dhara’ is the procedure in which medicated oil, milk or buttermilk is poured in a continuous stream on the head especially on the forehead and when ‘Takra’ is poured on the forehead & scalp, it is called Takradhara. This Takradhara cures premature grey hair, fatigue, infirmity and emaciation, headache, lack of vitality, pricking pains of palm and sole, diabetes, lack of proper functioning of the limb, joints, pains in the chest, heart diseases, disgust for a food, indigestion, dyspepsia and diseases of the eyes, nose, throat & ears. Although there are many physicians conducting this treatment, only few manage it with a thorough understanding of its principles. Actually ‘Dhara’ is good for all diseases. Changing the liquid as per the dosha condition with necessary alteration in its process is useful to alleviate any Dosha. They are mainly grouped as Moordhanya (on the head), Sarvanga (all over the body) and Pradeshika (local). The most important of this is Moordhyanya. It is employed in diseases like insanity, diseases of the head and eyes, chronic cold, sinusitis (peenasa), diseases of the ear, mouth, vata diseases etc. There are many varieties of Moordhnidhara, among them Takradhara, Ksheeradhara, Stanyadhara and Snehadhara. Takra has Pancha-Rasa except Lavana Rasa, Amla Vipaka, Ushna Virya, and Vata Kaphaghna property. Takra (Buttermilk) contains large amount of lactic acid. It is scientifically proved that lactic acid is used to moisten and diminish the appearance the conditions like thickened psoriatic scales so very useful in it. This Dhara also alleviates the derangement of the three doshas and improves the power of all sensory organs. Overall Takrahara is non invasive and simple, cost effective as well as pleasant remedy.

Topic: Understanding of Agni and its clinical application in different diseases

Topic: Amelioration of sexual health through Ayurveda
Abstract: Ayurveda, the science of life, prevention and longevity is the oldest organized Indian Medical System. The perfect balance of mind, body, and soul is considered as complete health in Ayurveda. 5000 years back only, Ayurveda included Rasayana and Vajikarana as important branches in Ashtanga Ayurveda. Charaka who is the father of Ayurveda medicine states that “The healthy life has three main pillars - a balanced diet, proper sleep, and healthy sex and marital life”. In Ashtanga sangraha, according to the Prakriti that means Vataja, Pittaja or Kaphaja, the person should indulge in sexual activity. They also highlighted the frequency of sexual activity depending upon the seasons like pre-winter, winter, summer, rainy, autumn and spring. It shows that for human sexual health concerns very long back Ayurveda Vaidyas know how to handle sexual health & sexual problems. Vajikarana therapy is said to revitalize all seven dhatus, therefore restores equilibrium and health. Rasayana drugs act inside the human body by modulating the neuro-endocrine-immune system. Vajikarana Rasayana is a special category of Rasayana, which improves the reproductive system and enhances sexual functions. The main goal is to produce a healthy progeny and a healthy society. Now a day’s Sexual problems are very common in both men & women. The causative factors are both physical & psychological. We have come across many cases of Klaibya (Erectile dysfunction), Vandyatva (Infertility), Shukragata Vata (Premature ejaculation), etc. due to our globalized lifestyles like improper diet, disturbed sleep, work pattern, late marriage, live-in relationship, stress, anxiety, and fear, etc. Compare to earlier, now more patients are approaching for treatment due to awareness regarding sexual issues. Firstly we have to differentiate either physical or psychological sexual problems by taking a proper sexual history, if needed we have to adopt modern technology like laboratory investigations. After diagnosis, we can adopt Yoga, meditation, sex education & sex counseling, sex therapy with ayurvedic medicine. By following this line of treatment we can help the patient to come out of a sexual problem & also we can improve his/her sexual health.

Topic: Toxico-vigilance: An Inevitable Precondition to Drug Safety Scrutiny in Ayurved
Abstract: India has got a handful of poison centers to compensate about 1.37 billion population of India. Hence, a lot of under-reporting of poisoning cases occurs due to limited resources. The concept of toxico-vigilance encompasses the active detection, validation and follow-up of clinical adverse events related to toxic exposures in human beings. Toxico-vigilance is genuinely a medical and not only a statistical approach of human toxicity issues. In contrast to epidemiology, toxico-vigilance is based on the in-depth medical assessment of acute or chronic intoxication on an individual basis, which requires detailed information. Toxico-vigilance is the active process of identifying and evaluating the toxic risks existing in a community, and evaluating the measures taken to reduce or eliminate them. Through toxico-vigilance; not merely there is scope for Ayurveda to find a solution for toxicity issues, besides there is extensive scope for screening and regulating Ayurvedic formulations containing poisonous drugs of herbal/metal/mineral origin. Although the technical term “toxico-vigilance” does not feature in Ayurvedic texts, its essence is highlighted in Agada Tantra. In fact, a study of toxic drugs and ADR monitoring is an indispensable aspect in toxicological section. It is the need of the hour to utilize the Ayurvedic restraint of toxicology to explore the challenges that Ayurveda Science is facing today with regards to the drug safety and efficacy. A complete study of all potential disclosure associated with Ayurvedic medicament, risk assessment, prevention and management can be the primary footstep in this particular direction. At this point, the watchfulness of toxic drugs is to be done by considering the guidelines on raw drug collection, pharmaceutical processing, indications, contraindications, dosage and antidotes (prativisha) as mentioned in Ayurvedic treatises. Thus, data of toxico-vigilance can be effectively applied in monitoring drug safety in Ayurveda

Shreyas Bhalodia, B.A.M.S, MS (Ayu) in Shalya Tantra, Gujarat, India - Presently working as an associate professor in Global Institution of Ayurveda Tramba (Rajkot), Gujarat India. I am practicing ayurvedic proctologist since 2011. Operated more than 500 fistula with Kshara Sutra Surgery.
Topic: Kshara Sutra Surgery in management of Fistula in Ano with special reference of use of different kind of Kshara Sutras
Abstract: Bhagandara (Fistula in Ano) at modern parlance is a common anorectal condition prevalent in the populations worldwide and its prevalence is second highest after Arsha (hemorrhoids). Kshara Sutra (K.S.) is one of the chief modality in the treatment of Bhagandara in Ayurvedic science. Exploration of the new plants for the preparation of Kshara as a better substitute to Apamarga Kshara is the need of the hour. To find out an effective alternative to Apamarga K.S. in view of easy processing, a Snuhi Ksheera Sutra without any Kshara and the Tilanala K.S. were opted for their clinical evaluation. Assessment was done on objective (Unit Cutting Time - UCT) and subjective parameters. It was found that Tilanala K.S. showed higher UCT (9.76 days) while lower in Snuhi Ksheera Sutra (7.42 days) as compared to Apamarga K.S. (8.82 days). Thus Tilanala K.S. can be used as a substitute for Apamarga K.S. and Snuhi Ksheera Sutra can be employed in the recurrent fibrosed cases of Bhagandara.

Abstract: As the whole world is in the crises of Covid-19 pandemic, the most important focus of health care profession is on immune system. Ayurveda extensively talks about the defense system for fighting disease under the title of “Vyadhikshmatva”. Vyadhikshmatva can be broadly classified into two types “Sahaja” and “Abhaysaja”. It is amazing to see that Ayurveda describes how “the right age of building immunity starts in the womb”. This presentation shares the wisdom of Ayurveda about developing immunity right from the conception to early childhood, along with tools and methods of transforming this knowledge into clinical practice.

Topic: Ayurvedic Application of Western Herbs
Abstract: The timeless practice of Ayurveda isn’t only restricted to India – it can be applied across cultures, time zones and geographical locations. With some of the traditional Ayurvedic herbs becoming over harvested, endangered or unavailable in other countries, Ayurvedic practitioners can learn to apply Ayurvedic principles with local herbs and spices. By expanding your toolbox to readily available herbs that many people have access to in North America & Europe, we can share the benefit of Ayurveda to many more people. We will explore the Italian herbs such as oregano, basil, mint or herbs used in western herbology such as dandelion, valerian and burdock. This seminar will explore the dravya guna of some of these herbs and demonstrate how you can maintain the essence of traditional Ayurveda while applying it in a practical way to modern day living across continents and cultures.

Topic: The Concept of Immuno-modulation in Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Herbs as Immuno-modulators
Abstract: Immuno-modulators are considered now as one of the most potent tools in the management of health and disease by modern medicine. Immunity is a biological term that describes a state of having sufficient biological defenses to avoid infection, disease, or other unwanted biological invasions. Immunity involves both specific and nonspecific components Vyadhi-ksamatwa, as it is understood in Ayurveda, has much broader implications than the term “Immunity” used in modern medicine. The immune-compromised state of a person i.e., depletion of vyādhik-ksamatwa or resistance against disease is considered a major causative factor responsible for the genesis of disease. Vyādhik-ksamatwa is involved in the prevention of the occurrence of a new disease, and it also retards the virulence and progression of an existing disease.
