Message from Honorable Vice Chancellor
"Recognizing potential of Ayurveda in child health care, all stakeholders have the mandate to play a vital role to explore new horizons to evolve protocols for protection, prevention, promotion and management of pediatric health problems. It gives me immense pleasure to organize wonderful event at our university in auspicious presence of worldwide dignitaries at one platform. Outcome of this event will indeed open the Pandora of opportunities for all stakeholders to make concreate advancements in these fields." - Prof. (Vd.) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati
Introduction:
Children are the most vulnerable members of the population. Adverse social and economic conditions cause greater suffering to this group than to the other members of the community. Children are vulnerable primarily because they depend on a nurturing adult particularly their mothers to survive. These factors are compounded by some socio cultural realities of child rearing which has negative effect such as scarce food, poor access to health facilities etc.
Access to quality child health care remains a problem for most families in developing countries like India. Health facilities are far from where they live, services are inadequate or the cost of care is unaffordable that in turn worsen poor child health in the country.
Although there is remarkable decline in morbidity and mortality caused by poor pregnancy and perinatal care in mother as well as various infections and malnutrition in children in last few years but the statistical data draw attention on proper and effective management of the child health care. This goal of comprehensive and integrated child health care cannot be achieved without association and active involvement of manpower, technology & wisdom of Ayurveda. Ayurveda the age old and time tested system of ancient India has great potential to deal with such health problems. We have plenty references and literature for child health care in our ancestral doctrine which may be a gold standard for child health care. Rajasthan has a largest network of AYUSH practitioners and infrastructure serving child health care in the state. That’s why the idea generated to organize an International conference to provide an interactive platform for the stakeholders to acquiring extensive exposure on manifold issues in the child health care and share the meaningful experience in this concern.
