Topic: Epigenetics & Ayurvedic Approach of Healing
Abstract: Ayurveda is a natural holistic medical system with a highly personalized approach. It identifies each individual as a unique entity with a specific constitution and tendencies. The process of disease management in Ayurveda is understanding the unique nature of the individual and the imbalances within his/her body-mind systems and creating a protocol that includes diet, lifestyle, herbs, formulations, mindful practices, and awareness sessions. While all the diseases are affecting the individual’s mind-body systems the entire mechanism of healing is also happening in the same mind-body systems of the same individual including the digestive system, metabolic system, immune system, hormones and so on. Healing is a process of down regulating the tendency disease process and up regulating the body’s own healing mechanisms. Being an Ayurvedic clinician for more than two decades I will be presenting on the epigenetic aspect of the Ayurvedic healing process at this conference.
