​Topic: Utility of Tridosha in Clinical Practice


Abstract: Ayurvedic concept of physiology, pathology, Diagnosis, Medicine and Therapeutics are based on doctrine of Dosha. Dosha which constitute the structural and functional units of all living cells,tissues,organs. These are the basic pillars,helps to maintain homeostasis in the body. Dosha are biological elements which governs all physio-psychological functions of body and mind.Vata,pitta,kapha are concerned with body and it's function.If any variations like vruddhi and kshaya responsible for produce the disease. Doshas are basic pillars so it has many utility like to understand Prakruti (Constitution) of the person, To know the Pathya-apathya (Nutrition) in normal even disease condition, It has Biological function,Dosha helps to understand Nidana( Pathology) to cause the disease. as all dravyas helps balance the Dosha by Guna karma of drug hence it has utility even in Dravyaguna (Materia-medica). Dosha has role in Diagnosis ,prognosis and treat the disease.
