Infertility, as per modern science is defined as inability to conceive even after one year of normal marital relations without use of contraception. In Ayurveda, this condition is termed as Vandhyatva and there are four factors which are responsible for healthy conception, namely Ritu (appropriate time of conception), Kshetra(healthy uterus and vagina), Ambu (proper nutrition of mother) and Beej(healthy ovum & sperm). Among all health issues, infertility is one of the main health issue due to changing lifestyles nowadays. The number of infertility cases are increasing day by day due to changing lifestyles, junk foods, socio-economic causes, tremendous amount of stress, worries, tensions etc. Nearly 10-15 % of the individuals belonging to the reproductive age group are affected by Infertility. Conception depends upon the fertility potential of both the male and female partner. Male is directly responsible for about 30-40% cases, while female is responsible in about 40-55%.
