Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is fast emerging as the silent epidemic in our world. 10% women worldwide are diagnosed with this complex metabolic disorder. PCOS when not managed can lead to serious complications like Type 2 Diabetes, metabolic syndrome, infertility and even endometrial carcinoma. Early diagnosis of children at risk of developing PCOS is crucial for its prevention as well as for effective management. While conventional medicine offers very limited solutions to address every aspect of the complex and massive hormonal imbalances of PCOS. This presentation will help in understanding protocols of identifying and diagnosing the risk of PCOS and managing it with Ayurveda in Pediatric population.
Dr. Chetali Samant, BAMS, M.D. (Ayu) Specialization: Kaumarbhritya - Karnataka, India - Having practiced Ayurveda in entirely diverse cultures like India and the United States, Dr. Chetali Samant has experienced the myriad facets and the true meaning of Ayurvedic Health Care. A native of Goa, Dr. Samant completed her B.A.M.S in the year 2003 from Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Center, Goa with honors.
